CANOEING SUCCESS FOR COLCHESTER
Ordinary Cadet Daniel Mitchell took part in a number of cadet canoeing events this year.
On 6th July, 13 year old Daniel represented the Colchester unit in the Essex District Regatta at London's Royal Victoria Docks and won the gold medal in the Junior Male Class single canoe race. This entitled him to represent Essex in the London Area Regatta on the 12th July, again at RVD. Fighting off strong competition Dan again won the gold medal in the single canoe race.
The London Area Regatta was won by Essex.
Dan went on to take part in the National regatta at Excel London in September as part of the London area team. Cadet teams from all over Britain including Scotland and Northern Ireland took part and Daniel came in 4th place.
