Molly Pup and Billie were born 9th September 2005. Their mum was Meg who found herself in the family way, allegedly as a result of a chance encounter with Howie, something of a Jack the Lad, from somewhere in Essex.
This is me with me mum and me sister Billie. I am on the right. Both Meg and Howie are Jack Russells, a type of dog (in case you didn't know!).
Me again! With Billie.
Me again! One of my first
forays out into
the wider world.
On 5th November 2005, Molly Pup left home at the age of 8 weeks and went to live with Theresa and her family in Fordham, near Colchester, in Essex. Molly's sister, Billie, also left home to go to live with Harriet.
This is me with me new dad This is me in the kitchen during one of my quiet moments. Shame about the pink collar. It is for a cat really but it 'was all they had', according to Mum. I need a bigger one with studs in it. On 10th November, Molly Pup went to the vet to have her toenails clipped, an injection and a microchip implant. Not a happy experience - but soon forgotten.
Looking for trouble?
This is me with Harry.

....and me at work. At least they got me a decent collar. All I need now is to get my final jabs and then I can go for some decent walks.

Great things these puppy parties! They bring me here to have some fun. Some the other puppies are a bit posh but I don't mind. Who wants to have a pedigree anyway? This was on 24th November 2005. Meg Pup lives quite near to where the office is and the two, Meg and Molly, mother and daughter, have not met up since 5th November 2005. They have heard each other barking either side of the office door but the two have been kept apart to avoid upset and to allow the milk to dry up. On 29th November, they were re-introduced.

Wahay! Me Mum came to see me today. She came over with Nancy. Brilliant fun! Plenty of chasing about and sniffing of girly bits and bums'n things. The reunion went well so they should be seeing a lot more of each other.
Molly has had all her jabs and is free to go out and about now. He mum comes to see her at work each day where they both play together happily like Clueso and Kato. It's very funny to watch.

Nearly as big as Mum now!

My spot on the settee! It was a hard day!

My trip to the seaside at Aldborough.
6th January 2006 - Puppy training starts next week for Molly. She is learning various commands but has a long way to go yet. She's almost house trained but is incapable of ignoring other people or dogs when out walking.
27th June 2006 - These are Molly's latest pictures. She is fully grown and has just had her first season. She attends training classes and knows the phrase 'bad girl' only too well. She loves chasing rabbits and exploring their burrows and having her tummy tickled and being brushed and chocolate. She hates being put in the shed when she is punished for being a bad girl. She is a very sweet natured dog, never growls or bites and loves to meet people and other dogs.

My trip to Wales on a narrow boat. They have bought a special tank bag for their motorbike and they put me in it last week and took me for a ride. I am not too happy about it but we shall have to see. Pictures will probably follow soon. New Year's Day 2007. This is me and me dad on our bike. I have a special bag with a window and a gap that I can poke my head out of. My current interests are hunting wabbits, Harry Hill's field next to my house wherein live wabbits and wats and pheasants, and mumping titbits. So anyway, Molly had her second season in February 2007 and, in true Essex Girl style, went to see a couple of likely lads in Great Oakley, brothers Spider and Ted. Spoilt for choice!
This is me, having put on a bit of weight! and afterwards....
This is me with me pups. They were born on Saturday 14th April 2007. I had 4 boys and 1 girl, all doing well. They are Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Mo and Flora. I have since renamed Miny as Pirate because he has a patch over his eye. We are allowed to move onto the settee in the evening so that I can watch telly. The youngsters are blind for two weeks so all hell bring break out soon when they can see what they are up to. My problem is that I don't know who the father is!

'In the scrum!' At 4 weeks old, 5 hungry puppies and some sore titties. Who'd be a mum?

Here's Mo, he's quite a character, always up for fun.

I am Meeny, Dom's choice.

I'm Eeny. I'm very outgoing, always the first into a bundle.

I'm Pirate, not the sharpest tool in the box. I am the only long haired pup. I was looking for a home but the seemed to quite like me. I'm an easy going chap and very cuddly.

I'm Fleur, the only lady of the litter. They have claimed me for their own as I am so adorable.
16th May 2007. All pups are doing well. They like to get out and explore the kitchen and have tried some real grub already. They had a run in the garden today, on the grass, and thought that that was great fun. They will be 5 weeks old on Saturday 19th May 2007.23rd July 2007. The way it has turned out is as follows:
Eeny became Spot and then became Branston and he went to live in Copford with a bitch Jack Russell named Pickle, a few months older than him. He is loving life. He was a difficult one for us to let go as he was full of personality. He will be coming to stay with us for a fortnight in the summer.![]()

Meeny became Connor and went to live with Dom in Fordham. Dom works with horses, so Connor has learned all about life at a saddle club. He is a lovely dog and pays frequent visits home to see his mum, brother and sister.
Miny became Pirate and he never left home. He now shares our home with his sister Fleur and mum Molly. This chap is simply adorable. We just could not part with him. He is very laid back, is not fazed by anything, enters in to the fray whenever there is a rough and tumble, but is gentle with it - and very affectionate.

Mo became Eddie and he went to live in a pub in Boxford. He was the pick of the litter by Titch, the pup's father's owner. We hear that he is loving life.
Flora became Fleur and now lives with her mum in Fordham. She is very much like her mum; nervous of loud noises, bigger dogs, motorbikes, etc. She is very affectionate and loves life with her family, especially now that she has the run of the garden.

The very best of pals!
The following pictures were taken in October 2007. The pups are 6 months old and full of personality. Molly is resigned to her life with these two upstarts, although she still holds ascendancy over them with certain things. For instance, Molly gets to go out with Mum on business trips.
Pirate and Molly. They are all great pals. Pirate is wilfull and we are having trouble with discipline with him. The lady of the house wants to have him castrated. The gentleman of the house wishes his testicles to remain.
Pirate
Fleur with her corgi feet. She is timerous, afraid of the dark but supremely affectionate.

Ever wondered why Jack Russell dogs are called Jack Russells?
The answer can be found in Devon, where the breed's creator was born and lived most of his life. John - also known as Jack (obviously!) - Russell was born in Dartmouth in 1795. Following his university days in Oxford, he returned to the county to work as a churchman in North Devon. As a youngster, he loved to hunt, and he became obsessed with the notion of finding a hard working breed of terrier which could flush out the fox. Which is why he found himself acquiring his first terrier from a milkman while he was studying at Oxford in around 1815...and the dog in question was called Trump.
The story goes that Trump was crossed with a Devon hunt terrier to create the Jack Russell breed - also known as a Parson Terrier. Parson Russell is still remembered fondly at Swimbridge, near Barnstaple, where he was vicar from 1832 after moving from his previous post of curate at Iddesleigh. The parson - who was a founder member of the Kennel Club in 1873 - died in 1883 and his body is buried in the church yard at St James Church, Swimbridge.
The village has a pub called the Jack Russell Inn, and its sign is a reproduction of a painting of Trump which was commissioned by the then Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII). The original still hangs at Sandringham.
