GWYNNE
39 Mary Maria Gwynn is shown in the 1861 census, aged 21 years, a cook, born in Torrington?, Herefordshire. We assume that she was illegitimate as she was baptised at Claines, Worcestershire in 1841, the daughter of 79 Maria Gwynne. No father's name was given. However, when Mary was married, she named her father as 78 Robert Williams.
79 Maria Gwynn is shown in the 1871 census, aged 73 (born 1798 in Tenbury, Worcestershire), a widow, as head of household, living at New Northwick Lane, Claines, together with 38 George O Halford, his wife and their children (see the Halford reference).
Certificates
38 George William Halford, age 18, bachelor, a glover of St Johns, son of 76 William Halford, a farmer, was married to 39 Mary Maria Louisa Gwynn, age 18, spinster, a laundress of St Johns, daughter of 78 Robert Williams, a coachman, at the parish church of St John in Bedwardine, Worcester on 25th December 1859. Witnesses were Henry Bradley and Mary Ann Bradley.

HYDE
Family folklore has it that the secret of the now famous brand of Worcestershire Sauce, once belonged to our family. The 1871 census record below may be a reference to this claim. This branch of the Hyde family comes from Worcestershire, although 74 John Hyde was born in 1801 the adjacent county of Shropshire. Parish records tell us that John married 75 Mary Hartill in 1830 in Dudley and that they had three children, Ann (bap 1825), Mary Ann (bap 1835) and Elizabeth (bap 1838). 37 Mary Ann Hyde was married to 36 James Innis in Worcester in 1856.
Parish Registers
74 John Hyde aged 29 was married to 75 Mary Hartill aged 29 on 28th Nov 1830 at St Thomas, Dudley.
